A Queen

A Queen is proud of herself. She respects herself and others.
She is aware of who she is. She neither seeks definition from
the person she is with, or does she expect them to
read her mind. She is quite capable of
articulating her needs.

A Queen is hopeful. She is strong enough to make all her
dreams come true..... She knows love, therefore she
gives love. She recognizes that her love has
great value and must be reciprocated.
If her love is taken for granted,
it soon disappears.

A Queen has a dash of inspiration, a dabble of endurance.
She knows that she will, at times, have to inspire others
to reach the potential God gave them. A Queen knows
her past, understands her present and
moves toward the future.

A Queen knows the Creative Energy. She knows that with
this the world is her playground, but without she will just
be played. A Queen does not live in fear of the future
because of her past. Instead, she understands that
her life experiences are merely lessons, meant
to bring her closer to self knowledge
and unconditional self love.
Queen,

People come, people go...

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON. . .It is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend, and they are!
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part, or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die.
Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered. And now it is time to move on.

Then people come into your life for a SEASON....Because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

9/11

On this day, 10 years ago, the world watched America under attack.

We witnessed thousands of lives unwillingly taken at the hands of terrorists. We were affected. Whether directly or indirectly we all realized that in a blink of an eye our lives can make a dramatic change based off someones action. Ten years later, there are people still grieving this tragedy, very sad. Images plague our media outlets of that faithful morning, stirring up emotions that fuel our perception of the type of world we live in.
So what type of world do we live in?
Is it one that is cold, without remorse, disregard to human life, or God? Or, is it a world we see hurting and desperate for love, unity and peace. What is driving our actions?

I for one, have a strong faith in God, the Alpha and Omega, the Omnipresent, the Everlasting Father... and so I know that events such as these have been prophesied in my bible.

Matthew 24:6,7..."And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places."

We need to still think, speak, act, and walk in love for it is within our tiny gestures that can be the change we are searching for. I encourage you to never forget the suffering and loss of lives that have been taken as a result of war and natural disasters, however try not to let it consume you into grief and doubt. We are still alive! We can still dream and prepare, reconcile and restore. We can still be the change the world needs.

So live for your family, love thy neighbor and be of service to your sistern and brethren. Let's make this ten year anniversary of tragedy a mark for positive change!

Jeremiah 29:11..."For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not evil, to give you an expected end."

G.R.O.W

At times we find ourselves at a place unexpected. Facing challenges that's not planned within our will, a blind-sided circumstance that needs to be addressed before we can move on. We can be pressed and displaced outside our usual comfort zone. So when we react to what's happening to us, whether considered right or considered what seems to be necessary, we access an outcome to learn if we progressed or have been set back by it.
Either way we will have learned. Something that was not taught to us before.
We grow. We've (G)ained (R)esponsibility (O)n our (W)ill. And when we grow, that is Gods will for us!

Over heated

Summertime is here and all the frills that come along with it. One of those can be extreme heat. Here in Toronto, we are entering our second week of extremely high temperatures rising up to the mid forties Celsius. Coupled with a dry summer thus far, you can see that this is a recipe for illness' like heat stroke.

What is heat stroke?
Heat stroke is the most serious heat-related illness. It's when the body is exposed to an excessive amount of heat and cannot sweat or cool down. Within 10-15 minutes, body temperature can rise to 106 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. If emergency treatment is not provided, heat stroke can cause premature disability or even death.

It is important to be aware of prevention to heat stroke, and identifying the symptoms.

Prevention is cure...

  • keep hydrated with plenty of liquids (preferably water)

  • avoid or minimize sweet, caffeine, and alcoholic beverages

  • take frequent breaks in shaded areas

  • wear a hat, lightweight clothing

  • try avoiding the outdoors while the sun is at its peak

  • stay indoors with a fan, air conditioning, or in the basement

The following symptoms of heat stroke may include the feeling of confusion, dizziness, throbbing headache with a temperature over 103 degrees. The person's skin can get red, hot, and also dry to the touch. They may also experience nausea or lose consciousness.

By treating heat stroke, get the person to a shaded area right away. Keep them cool by giving them sips of water, fanning them, wrapping them with a damp cloth or spraying their body with water. Try monitoring their body temperature with a thermometer if available, to lower temperature to at least 101 or 102 degrees. Call 911 immediately as they can assist with further direction or until medical help arrives.

As summertime is desirable for enjoying the summer weather, which you should, just be cautious and keep in mind to avoid becoming 'over heated'.

Cheers

St. Valentine

Valentine was the bishop of Interamna during a period of oppression when Claudius II, Emperor of Rome had outlawed marriage in 270A.D. The emperor thought that married men would make bad soldiers as they would be reluctant to leave their families in case of a war. He also outlawed Christianity because he felt to be the one supreme God, Emperor of Rome and wanted to be praised as such.

Valentine disagreed with the Emperor's outlaws and believed them to be wrong. He believed people should be free to love God and marry. He invited young couples, and secretly performed services to marry and unite the couples. Valentine was eventually caught and brought before the Emperor in which he tried to persuade Valentine to leave Christianity and serve the Roman Empire and Roman Gods, and in exchange the Emperor would pardon Valentine and make him his alley. Valentine declined the offer, stood within his faith and did not renounce God. As a result the St. Valentine was sentenced to execution which would consist of being beaten, stoned, and finally decapitated. St. Valentine died on February 14, 270 A.D.

Do you believe this story to be true? Either way it inspires the fact for the freedom to love without condition, for love is of God. It begins from within. When we find love for ourselves first, we will experience Gods true love, and love for others.

Have a Happy and Wonderful Valentines Day!

I Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant.

Women and Heart Health

The first Friday in the month of February marks National Wear Red Day. This campaign was designed to encourage women (and men) to wear red in support for the awareness of heart disease in women.

Did you know...
  • Eight times as many women die from heart disease and stroke than from breast cancer. 41% of all Canadian women's deaths are due to heart disease and stroke, compared to 37% of men
  • A women's risk of death from heart disease increases 4 times after menopause
  • Women with diabetes at any age are at more risk of developing heart disease and stroke than men with diabetes.
  • Compared to active women, inactive women are twice as likely to die from heart disease and stroke
  • Heart disease is the leading cause of death followed by Cancer, Stroke, Chronic Lower Respiratory Diseases, Alzheimer's and Unintentional Injuries

Prevention Tips...

Manage your weight: eliminate processed foods, white flours, white sugars. Incorporate green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits, and supplement with essential fatty acids. Exercise everyday, minimum 20-30 minutes cardiovascular activity. (Make sure to first consult your practitioner before hand should you have any health issues)

Reduce Stress: Bringing balance between work and family life can be difficult at times. Taking the time to relax, unwind and enjoy life is important. Take time for yourself, do something you enjoy. Take a moment out of your day to "be still", finding quietness and peace for reflecting and meditating.

Choose a healthier lifestyle: Quit smoking and limit alcohol consumption

Women are known as the care-givers, the nurturer's that wears her heart on her sleeve. Well it's time to put ourselves first to ensure we live a long, healthy and enjoyable life. Afterall, who wants to die of a broken heart?

BUTT OUT!

Are you a smoker, and looking for ways to quit? Have you tried to quit smoking, and was it successful? Have you ever heard of the saying, treat the cause not the symptom? It's most common that people will look to products that will treat the symptoms rather the cause of their ailment/addiction. May I suggest an idea?

It's called Smokers Cleanse, by ReNew Life. Now I'm not paid by ReNew Life to endorse their products but I have carefully studied them, and do represent as a Digestive Care Advisor, more importantly I have used their products and they are good made from pure natural ingredients.

So back to Smokers Cleanse and its benefits. Most find it hard to quit smoking because of the coughing, cravings and restlessness that it can cause. The cleanse includes a 3-part program for 30 days that will support the body's needs to heal itself and deal with the symptoms through natural herbs, amino acids and antioxidants. In turn, your body will be cleansed from all the impurities that smoking has caused without suppressing the symptoms, and to rid away naturally.

An example of what this program can offer you:

  • Part 1 will support the lungs by assisting to expel mucous from the respiratory system and soothe inflamed bronchial passages. Antioxidants will support detoxification through the lungs

  • Part 2 will provide therapeutic levels of green tea extract and amino acids (GABA, Tyrosine) to assist in reducing cravings and the desire to wanting to light one up

  • Part 3 provides relaxing herbs and serotonin precursor that will aid to relieve stress and promote the feeling of relaxation and restfulness, especially a good nights sleep

Remember with any cleanse to drink water through out the day. An adequate amount you can determine is taking you body weight divided by 2 and consume that amount in ounces. Also increase fresh fruits and vegetables daily to assist with the cleansing process. With the right attitude and determination to succeed, you're sure to accomplish that goal to once and forever...BUTT OUT!

If you do decide to take Smokers Cleanse, please share your experience in the comments field or email me at ournatural@gmail.com

Positive Thursday

‎"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself."~George Bernard Shaw

A lot of the times people feel that they need to "find themselves" at some point in life. It's usually brought to this point when they feel dissatisfied with either their career/job, their marital status, social circle etc... It's as if someone actually "found" themselves everything magically falls into place and they live happily ever after. I admit that I have felt that way also, but this quote simplifies the truth of how we can view life. Through creation.

We do have the influence to create a better life for ourselves, starting with creating from within. By shifting how we can see change from external to internal, life begins. See yourself worthy of your greatest dreams and go for it! Build yourself up into your best YOU. Start now with investing in yourself.

Tao Te Ching

Do you ever consider the power within words? Some people believe that you can speak words into existence, I am one of those people. Let's take the time to carefully choose the words we use, as the words we use (both positive and negative) decorate our world around us.

I would like to share this powerful video sharing some of the 80 verses of The Tao Te Ching, summarized by Wayne Dyer. Read along and say these verses aloud and believe in what you are saying.

Be Blessed

Positive Thursday

"The task ahead of you is never greater than the strength within you."~unknown

It's most powerful once we have identified ourselves for who we really are. When we see that we were created in His image, the apple of His eye. We are powerful beings. We have the ability to create wonderful things, the ability to heal ourselves, and move mountains. Just look within, and you'll see. So this quote is a reminder that we are unstoppable, because of the strength that's within.
Don't be fooled otherwise.

Have a happy and blessed POSITIVE Thursday (((+)))!

NEW

A NEW year, a NEW month, and a NEW day. Most people, this time of year, have made lists of resolutions they will work to accomplish within the next twelve months. Some may even dig deeper and make their goals S.M.A.R.T (Specific. Measurable. Attainable. Realistic. Time frame) to achieve a higher chance of accomplishing them. In the end the pressure of ending one calendar year to the beginning of another is inevitably gonna to cause this.

It is good to reflect and plan ahead, and it is also good to feel the freedom to do this any particular time of the year and not just because it's the "new year."

So I will continue living in gratitude now. Where I am right now, giving thanks. I will continue working on being a person with qualities that will help me grow and nurture what lies within. I will keep educated about things that contribute to a healthy mind, body and soul. I will focus on my energy, to give and receive positive energy. I will love my family and consider them first with my intentions. I will embrace and support my genuine friends. I will volunteer my time for helping others. Most importantly, I will pray and keep faith that my goals will be continuous and magnify to a higher platform as I grow.

I believe that my goals will lead to that weight loss challenge, financial freedom, a strong portfolio, a successful career, a beautiful house (and many property), a new vehicle, family vacations and all other wonderful things that put the frills on living the "dream". And that would be because I first looked within. xox

So what goals do you have? And why? Feel free to comment because I care and want to hear about you... plus I feel nauseous blabbing about myself.

Cheers to 2011! Let's make it count!
